Audio Books

I'm interested in listening to audio books, and because of that, I was especially thrilled to read this post over at A Life Divided about Sue's favorite books to listen to and one (Corduroy Mansion) that she (and you and I) can listen to right now. How much do I love "corduroy" in a title? I can't even tell you how much.

I'm delighted that my post helped with your interest in audio books! I've been listening for so long that I have a long list of favorites, only a few of which I mentioned. Now, perhaps, I'll be inspired to write another post about it. I listen in the car and in the kitchen (esp. while chopping vegetables) and in the gym (though not when I'm doing heavy cardio because I go faster with music on, except that recently, my time on the elliptical has coincided with the 6 p.m. showing of "What Not to Wear" on TLC, and I end up watching that instead.)

Re: Corduroy Mansions--I'm almost caught up now, so soon I will be listening to it as a true serial novel.

I'd love to read more from your list of audio books favorites. I've only listened to a few New Yorker fiction podcasts (Louise Erdrich reading Lorrie Moore -- excellent!), and they made me think I could do some serious knitting and listening and be so so happy. Then there's the speed walking, which I may have to do while I figure out my orthotic-knee situation.......
