Running in Springtime

On the one hand: Pollen. On the other: Heaven.

I usually run 3 times a week, 4 max, and 2 of them are in Amherst after work. Since the weather has been nice, I've been doing after work runs on the Amherst bike path on Thursdays. This is something I did last spring as well, but maybe not this early in the spring. And for the past few weeks, in a marsh just off the bike path, I've seen beavers. 2 beavers 2 weeks ago, and last week, 5 beavers, swimming around, chomping on sticks, or both. I loved it. The beavers are basically around my turn around point, so they're my reward. And when I ran around a lovely reservoir near my house on Sunday, I appreciated the loveliness but was sad that there were no beavers. Although, at that same reservoir last year, I saw a bear! Spring running as a wildlife spotting activity! Who knew.

Beavers! And a bear?! And here I was excited to see ducklings on the Central Park Reservoir this morning. I'm glad your back running and the injuries have improved and resolved. I remain forever grateful for you couch potato-to-5K tip....
